There is nothing like the feeling of being pregnant. Even with morning sickness and exhaustion, the arrival of a new life is exhilarating. From the best baby bath products to room décor, strollers and carriers, there are so many things to decide and consider ... And baby clothes - oh my, clothes - everything is so small and so cute! Little by little mothers are buying everything they need for their arrival, but with all this excitement it is easy to forget what you need. 9 months may seem like a long time, but before you know it, you'll be taking care of your newborn baby, who consumes every moment from the moment you wake up - and quite a few of the moments you once enjoyed sleeping! That is why it is important to stop and see what you need.
So read on to discover five things you can do for yourself before your baby arrives that will help you make the switch to the role of mom.
1 . MAKE A GETAWAY WITH YOUR PARTNER. ONE BABY CHANGES EVERYTHING
Life becomes crazy and relationships can go through the odd bump. Plan a getaway or romantic date with your partner before a tiny being sneaks into your lives. It is a good way to reconnect and be together as a couple.
2. GIVE YOURSELF SOME MASSAGE DURING PREGNANCY
There is no doubt that pregnancy has consequences on your body. Pains, more aches, and a general malaise that become harder to ignore as the months go by and the gut gets bigger and bigger. It is natural to feel a little apprehensive as the birth approaches and fears about the big changes that lie ahead. Massage during pregnancy not only helps to relieve tired muscles, but it is a way to relax and forget about any worries. Your body is undergoing incredible changes - not to mention someone else's growth - so take some time to relax and reward yourself for all that hard work!
As the date of birth approaches, pregnant massage specialists may use techniques to help induce labor.
3. PREPARE AND FREEZE MEALS FOR A LONG SEASON
Having ready meals in the freezer is a great help especially in the first weeks and months with the baby. Dinner time for adults can often coincide with baby's dinner and bedtime routine, so being able to simply reheat food instead of making it from scratch makes dinner time a lot less stressful. Also consider making individual servings for lunches and snacks throughout the day. Zucchini slice, lasagna cupcakes, and spinach and feta triangles are small and easy to eat even when your hands (or arms) are full.
4. BEAUTY SESSION
If those last weeks of pregnancy are taking forever, organize a beauty session. A hairdressing session, a manicure and having your toenails painted your favorite color - it will be a pleasant surprise when you can finally see your feet again! It can be very difficult to prioritize yourself once the baby arrives, so no matter how frivolous it may seem, make time for yourself now. Do what makes you feel really good about yourself. On those foggy days and weeks after baby arrives, you'll be glad you did.
5. A PHOTO SESSION
Okay, we know that you are probably not in your most glamorous time with a baby on board, but it is a universal truth that pregnancy is beautiful. And even if you feel immensely big and uncomfortable, a good photographer can capture the most beautiful side of your body. Whether in the studio with incredible lighting or outdoors in nature, capturing this special moment in your life is a precious way to always remember it. Each stage of your developing pregnancy is especially beautiful, but around 30-33 weeks is normally the ideal stage because your belly has most likely burst, but you will still feel reasonably light.
We hope these suggestions make your wait easier!
